Target Audience

SpedSheets is designed for use by schools, districts, and individual educators or administrators. It is intended for adult users and is not directed at individuals under the age of 18.

• Personal Information: Educator and admin names, email addresses, and organization/school names.
• Student Data: Student names, student parent emails, IEP goals, and progress data.

Data is collected through user inputs via web app forms. All data is provided by users and not sourced from third parties.

To facilitate IEP data analysis, reporting, and graphing. To assist educators in making data-driven decisions.

No specific features require additional sensitive information.

Sharing of Data

Data is stored using Firebase Firestore for database management and Firebase Auth for authentication. We do not share data with schools, districts, or other entities unless required by law.

Data Storage

All data is stored on Firebase Firestore, which complies with industry-standard security measures.

Security Measures

Role-based access control (RBAC) is implemented to ensure only authorized users can access data. Data is encrypted during transmission and storage.

Breach Handling

In the event of a data breach, we will:

• Contain the breach and investigate its scope.
• Notify affected users within 72 hours as required by applicable laws.
• Implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
• Report the incident to relevant authorities if necessary.

Access and Control

Users can edit or delete most data directly through the platform. For any data not modifiable within the app, users can request deletion by contacting [email protected].

Opt-Out Options

SpedSheets does not offer opt-out options for data collection, as all collected data is essential for platform functionality.

Legal and Regulatory Compliance

We comply with the following:

• FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act): Protecting student education records.
• COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act): Ensuring privacy for student data.

Third-Party Tools

We use Firebase Firestore and Firebase Auth, both of which comply with relevant privacy laws and regulations. We actively monitor their compliance updates to ensure continued adherence.

Data Retention

User data is retained as long as it is not deleted or requested for deletion. We do not currently have a policy for automatic deletion of inactive accounts.
